Fixed exploit with images. Now every channel image uses the ones from our server, instead of random image link. This prevents IP from the user to leak to these random websites. (In compensation images should now load immediately in every computer)

Fixed issue with dropping connections for now, but it might happen again, please let us know about any issue with the server so we can fix it ASAP.

April 28, 2026 - First Anniversary edition EXTRA UPDATES

Changed TSDNS address to windowsxp.retrospection.jp.net (Connections seems to be way more stable now. This was changed due to community feedback)
Apparently due to security risks I never heard before, I'll be changing every single image the server uses for our own domain, so prevents these sites to sneak in the server or the user itself every time it downloads the image.
New Whisper music system was implemented, so certain channel lobbies such as 'Windows 8.1 channel', 'Retro Client Systems For:' are going to play music when the user joins as background music, for those that want to listen to that. 'Tunngle Level' channel I consider to be a Lobby channel as well, that will have a radio station as well, but we dunno each style, probably 90's to feel more nostalgic, but we didn't decide yet.

Yes you, the person that's probably reading this changelog right now, thank you so much for believing on us and what we are doing to archive TeamSpeak related stuff as much as we can and with this update you won't be disappointed because we went one step ahead to make this update very special.... I can't even control myself of how much excitement I'm having for announcing this, I really did a spetacular job and the update I would do in March, guess what? I just postponed for May as well, so understand as 3 huge updates in one and still couldn't release everything...
At same time I didn't want to lose our 1st anniversary debut so let's go the the logs shall we?
More Addons for TeamSpeak 3
Oh boy! This one was the breaking deal to me, because I spent pretty much 2025-until now (April 2026) hunting down old plugins, soundpacks, wallpapers and pretty much everything related to TeamSpeak 3 right? So I'm happy to say I finished majority of the things related to the project, maybe there's an addon out there in the web I still dunno so I'm not going to say I have everything archived, but what I can say is everything that was officially posted around 2017 and 2020 on official TeamSpeak 3 websites, I got a backup for it. (With and without the help of teamspeak.com website), we have a total of around 5GB worth content related to only TeamSpeak 3 that was just lost in time and it was recovered by me. Yeah, 5GB for a lonewolf person is really impressive work and dedication and for the fact I'm allowing everyone to get it as an easy download is really something people probably should thank me for... So I can't say every single thing I archived, you should take a look yourself in the server, but for now...

Updated Channel name (No longer called "Shu - Dev/owner" non-sense... It was renamed as "TeamSpeak 3 Addons", which makes more sense.
More plugins for Windows XP TeamSpeak 3 versions: The Windows XP client was very barebones and couldn't compete with TeamSpeak 3.1 versions, so I got 17 more plugins for it. (Probably there are more out there, if you know more, please let me know)

TeamSpeak 3 - Windows XP (3.0.18.2 to 3.0.19.4)

ACRE 1: If you aren't familiar with this plugin, It's one of the first plugins released for Arma 2, compatible with Radio signal and proximity chat in-game. This was tough to find, but with enough dedication I finally found and it's here, although I'm not familar with Arma games, I recovered what it was almost impossible to find either way. This is the latest version released to the plugin.

Channel Group Changer: A very useful for plugin for Server Admins to use. Change Channel Groups of a user, no matter where they are in the server.

Chatlog Viewer: History of your text chats and allow to export to a txt file for archiving purpose. (We already have this plugin working on version 3.1, but some users on Windows XP was complaining for the lack of export methods, well now there you have it!)

Gspeak: This one is special and for the fact that it can run in Windows XP TeamSpeak 3 clients again is kind of a miracle. So basically this plugin is only useful if you own Garry's Mod from 2016 (Yes! It's that specific). Similar to what ACRE 1 does for ARMA 2, this plugin provides proximity chat and radio signal for TeamSpeak 3, the only limitation is you need to be in a channel called Gspeak to make it work, but we made a channel with this name already, so you don't need to worry about that. I talked with the developer behind this plugin personally and he provided me the files that allow you to use this plugin in your Garry's Mod server (not matter if it's a local or dedicated one). If you can somehow make Garry's Mod from 2016 work again on Windows XP, this plugin is sort of mandatory to use. Does it only work if you are using Windows XP? Heck no, It works with any OS that has Gmod from 2016 and It's 32 bit (Unless if you have the 64-bit executable for Gmod, this plugin might not work under 64-bit systems due to differences in architecture). Files was recovered thanks to "Thendon" the creator of the plugin, so big shout to him to provide me the files to make it work again, as it should.

CrossTalk: A plugin for improving your voice experience. You can simulate radio or walkie-talkie communication with this plugin. Very useful for realism activities. (We also have this plugin working on version 3.1, but now XP users can experience it for the first time as well)

Now Playing: Similar to how Xfire or MSN Messenger works, It's a plugin for streaming info about the songs you hear on TeamSpeak chat for others to know what they are listening to. It was very popular in the golden age of TeamSpeak 3.

TS3 Soundboard: Not really RPSoundboard, but it works in a similar ways. With this plugin you can share sound effects and music with your friends. It was used also for trolling people in the past as well.

VLC Muter: One of the first, if not the first plugin ever made for TeamSpeak 3 Betas and it has a debut for the XP clients. I think it's obvious what this plugin does, it basically mute VLC while someone is talking and then unmute when the person stop talking. Only useful if you use VLC Player on Windows XP.

And many others...

TeamSpeak 3 - Vista/7/8/10/11 (3.1 to 3.1.10)

For versions of TeamSpeak 3.1 and further, we don't have too much to announce, we got just some plugins working with this version of TeamSpeak, but not as many we got for versions compatible with Windows XP, you can say the update has more highlight on versions for XP, in comparison to the rest of versions, still we can provide some of the plugins we could recover for...

ACRE2 and TFAR: Both plugins for Arma 3. Although ACRE2 still receives update to be compatible with versions of TeamSpeak we use today, we are also archiving it just in case it disappears like ACRE 1 once was. This is their Git for more information to get the lastest version ACRE2 Git

Gspeak: Works the same way Gspeak for TeamSpeak 3 Windows XP compatible versions work, but this one was made for Garry's Mod 2017, so any version of Garry's Mod released in that year, should be compatible with this plugin code (This plugin is not compatible with TeamSpeak 3 for Windows XP and requires to update to version 3.1 at least to make it work). This plugin can work for both 3.1 and 3.1.10 versions of TeamSpeak. Once more the limitation is the system architecture which still requires a 32 bit system to make it work (Unless if you find the 64-bit Garry's Mod executables from 2017). Files also was recovered thanks to "Thendon" the creator of software so big shout to him to provide me the files to make it work again, as it should.

TokoVOIP: Similar to ACRE 2 and Gspeak, It can provide proximity chat and radio signal in-game. The only requirement is been in a TokoVOIP TeamSpeak 3 channel and having Grand Theft Autio V (FiveM Mod) installed in your system.

And some others...

TeamSpeak 3 Soundpacks

Another big update for soundpacks! We already had a list of 57 soundpacks recovered, some very bad, some others half-good. We now archived the ones that also debut on myteamspeak.com website and also the ones that today you cannot get anymore, adding 62 extra soundpacks (I know! crazy number). I can tell you some of them for you to be excited for...

Battlefield 3 Soundpack

Duke Nukem Soundpack (Updated version in comparison to the earlier version)

Huskies Soundpacks

Lots of German Soundpacks (Including lost ones)

Microsoft Sam

Minecraft Soundpack

Russian Soundpack

Super Mario Soundpack

And many others...

Shoutout to: "Niplob Weird Sounds" to be the funniest soundpack I've used, It's not weird like the name suggest, It's just very funny.

TeamSpeak 3 Iconpacks

Promised this last year, but due to time constraint, I couldn't release it in 2025, well, I made my part and worked for this update as well. So I archived both very old Icon, useless and somewhat nostalgic Iconpacks to also the ones we have on myteamspeak.com (again in official sources). The ones for myteamspeak.com are actually icons to change in the client itself, meanwhile the others are for adding Server customization icons for TeamSpeak 3.

TeamSpeak 3 package overall

All content related to Soundpack and Iconpacks are going to be available for "Registered users in this Forum" to use, but at same time like some of you already know, I'm archiving addons and plugins beyond the compatible versions with the server we have today, so in the future I'll release the package containing: TeamSpeak Clients, All Soundpack and Iconpacks, All plugins (For many different versions including TeamSpeak 3 Betas, TeamSpeak official Wallpapers, SDKs and more content lost in time that also got recovered and it's been archived by me.

Releasing the MediaKit folder: This is a folder where it's going to be storing Banners, Buttons and Wallpaper between all 3 TeamSpeak domains that existed before (some of these are already being used in our site). Every folder is organized by the year of release.

Old translations and myteamspeak translations such as Greek and Czech was archived, recovered and added to the list of addons. Some of these translations can be installed in the Android app as well.

TeamSpeak 3 SDKs

This update also include Plugins SDK versions for TeamSpeak 3 API 20, API 21 (lost in time) and API 22 (more specifically for version 3.1.1.0, server already has version 3.1.1.1). So that way, any developer with enough time and ambition can make new plugins for TeamSpeak 3 versions compatible with any OS prior to Windows XP.

TeamSpeak 3 Beta Builds

Although I didn't say anything about, I made the "TeamSpeak 3 Beta Investigation" channel, to be investigating and archiving TeamSpeak 3 Beta versions of both servers and clients. Some clients are still lost in time, but I could recover at least for Windows x86 and x64, Mac some Linux Clients and recovered Windows and Mac OS servers. It's not a lot, but as time goes, I want to recover everything that was released, so please if you have the files, just join TeamSpeak 3 Server and talk with Shu for contributing in the recovery proccess.

In the Beta build topic, I recover a lost in time patch related to Windows 2000. As some of you know TeamSpeak 3, although in the official site was saying compatible with Windows 2000, this was never a thing and you still needed to patch it up to make it work in there. In which versions of TeamSpeak 3 this patch is compatible with is a mystery to me, but it works for TeamSpeak 3 Betas, so maybe I might make a 2nd TeamSpeak 3 Server to be compatible with Windows 2000 in the future, so the 1% Windows 2000 users can experience transfer files with ease for their systems, that would be a game changer, but I'm looking forward for it.

The New TeamSpeak 3 Server

We are proud to announce that our new TeamSpeak 3 Server is finally ready to be deployed and removing the Beta in the name. We are now ready for more users to connect to the server and we say bye bye for good to SQLite. Just one consequence was the server was completely restart from scratch, which means every message you had in the server, avatar and identity was lost. Fortunately we made a backup which should have restore most of the lost stuff, but not everything.

I also made my way to re-organize channels, besides re-implementing the channel/server permissions the way it was before. We have new icons and image description put in place.

Thanks to this restart, we aren't using the same ports we were using before and some of the tracking sites are going to be discontinued with no return. To improve security overall in the server we need to make the ultimate sacrifice to change the address and how you connect to the server, but the beneficial of that is going back to use the default Security Level, so it's a good thing, I hope...

Archiving Legacy VOIP Apps

Just a quick mention... Although our main focus is TeamSpeak and TeamSpeak servers and clients, we are also archiving and searching for old VOIPs that people used in the early 2000. We recovered Ventrilo servers/Clients, and RogerWilco Servers/Clients. We're looking for Battlecom Servers that might be out there lost in time as well. If you want to help us preserve these old VOIPs, contribute contacting us on TeamSpeak 3.

Rebranding "PC Gaming Community"

This might be all of sudden, but after 1 year with the name of our community as PC Gaming or "Retro PC Gaming", it wasn't fitting at all since our main focus and what we are becoming It goes far more to the Gaming environment and It's more related to TeamSpeak than ever. So, after some tough thinking, I'm going to rebrand the site and server for "Old TeamSpeak" brand, which makes more sense in what we are working on.
The name PC Gaming implies we only do Gaming. Actually the name was originate as my first idea to what I wanted to do with it and it goes to the first TeamSpeak 6 server I had back in 2025. Over the months, gaming was more like an extra than actually been the main focus of the community, I worked hard in bringing as many TeamSpeak 3 content as possible and forgot the site and the server had Gaming in it, when I wasn't even Gaming with the community myself so that's my reasons why the change in branding name.
I mean even the site in http also has the same idea for connecting to old teamspeak servers that very few people cares about for compatibility reasons. So in order to also make the site, this Forum and the TeamSpeak 3 server be more visible for search engines and a brand to be more recognized by the community I made this decision.

Website redesign (http version): I noticed some of the indie web community was fascinated and nostalgic for how the old web or 90's web worked, but their resources is limited to sites like neocities and nekoweb, which sites have the feel of old websites, but if you try to access them using computers from the time it's impossible to do so. And this is where I take this process, to make it accessible to as much computers (both old and new), I needed to make a web site using old html code and no https at all, so even a Windows 95 PC could access the site and interact with it, at least that was the idea for the http site.
The Website was a bit more challenge than what I was previously thinking it would be, so with the help of people in our community we are going to re-design the site to be more compatible with old browsers such as Internet Explorer. Is it insecure to make a website like that? Totally... especially for today standard, but we also want to be as visible as we can get with the real experience from the 90's. We know majority of PCs only accept https and that's why we are actually compiling 2 versions of the website, one http which is going to be perfect to access using old protocols and browsers and one in https which modern computers can interact with a bit more modern code (around 2010's or something)
And no we aren't using AI to generate an ugly website, the project is to make a website from scratch without AI intervention to be as authentic as human possible.

Progress in Owncast services

Not really an update for the server, but I personally submit a couple of months ago a report about a bug related to "xn--q9jyb4c" on the official Github Owncast page and a couple of weeks ago the issue of people not following is getting fixed with, hopefully other bugs related to the domain. Not sure, when Owncast devs are going to release the update fixing this, but I'll leave here the link to what's going on with the domain and that's why we can move to the next topic... (Github link: https://github.com/owncast/owncast/pull/4882)

New domain coming

The domain decision was more my responsive about criticism than anything else. Also some of the services I'm working with the community, because of the weird Japanese character as the High Domain, some of the services just are just breaking a part which makes me very frustrated about.
The idea for the Japanese characters "みんな" or "xn--q9jyb4c" means "Community" which makes sense to what I'm trying to accomplish here, but it would only makes sense if this was for the Japanese audience and that was my goal initially, to maybe attract the Japanese audience somehow with a stylized domain like that to be easier for Japanese people to be able to access, but after lots of issues going on and sometimes links to be seen as links, I still want to be friendly with Japanese people, so in addition we are going to have the domain "jp.net".
After some feedback from the community, everyone agreed it was much more easier to remember and to write it down, which I can also continue to appeal to Japanese people, as well with the みんな high level domain. So then, as for it stands for now majority of the sites are going to have 2 domains which both of them can be accessible depending of the user, more instructions about that is coming...

Hamachi replacement

After some consideration, I'll be also replacing the Hamachi service for a free Open source project called SoftEther, which should be installed for people that wants to connect in our network. As of now, we are in our testing phase, seeing how everything works for our purpose to dedicate our servers on it. Why SoftEther VPN you say?
First it's about compatibility, SoftEther accepts in systems like Windows 98 up to Windows 11, which for us covers about 90% of all our users. Second, they offer robust and modern technology that modern Firewalls understand, so in other words it's not going to block connections from it because older protocols in use and finally it includes robust customization for server owners and improve security in the network itself.
It might be a bit complex for a normal user to handle, but believe me it was the best solution we could find for us owning the server, the bandwidth and everything that happens when you connect to it, no longer we are depending from a 3rd party server and hoping it might work.

Play Quake Wars as normal. Servers are going to be 24/7 online and TeamSpeak servers are going to be online for communicating with others.
Access to TeamSpeak 3 and other VOIP communications while in the Network.

Website Redesign - New purpose

We now not only have a new domain, but a new website with the purpose in working with old browsers like Internet Explorer 6, Classic Opera and Netscape 9. We took this approach to be as easier as possible to download our content and download directly from our Website, no matter if you are on Windows XP or Windows 98, discarding to manually transfer the files to your old computer.

As where this post stands, we recommend using Internet Explorer for full compatibility, but we will update the site overtime to offer solutions for these other browsers as well. (Due to change in code, modern browsers might break some text format)

We changed our RSS Feed for TeamSpeak updates, so now that means you can subscribe to the feed even tho your browser is very old and not supported anymore. Once more, this was done for people to receive our updates whenever we post something about, so no matter which computer you are using, you will be able to reach you. :) Good thing to mention, if you are using Logitech G15/G19 software, you can also receive the feed from us, no matter which OS you are using through the link in our website.

We reached "CrossTalk MSN Service" for promoting our website in their services and we will show up in the client as an Ad. On top of it we will be adding their buttons in the website and in our Forum.

Buttons from other websites can only be added in the site, if it has compatibility with old Internet Explorer minimum version 6. We're doing this in order to build connect with old and accessible websites that didn't lose compatibility with old browsers, so this way it become a bit more interesting to navigate in our website, instead of just seeing TeamSpeak related content all the time.

Appscanner Plugin for TeamSpeak 3 Mention

We not only recover the Appscanner plugin compatible with Windows XP TeamSpeak 3 Clients, but also we're updating the list of app/games compatible with it.
In case, you don't know what AppScanner is, It was a plugin that was integrated with TeamSpeak 3 since the Beta builds to scan your system process and identify when applications are running in the system. If the application matches with the one in the "apps.ini" file, then it's going to "stream" the name of the application on TeamSpeak 3 client and everyone that also uses the plugin will be able to see in real time which apps or games they are running in their side through text (compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac). It's very similar how Xfire worked back in the days, where anyone can edit the file, creating their own custom list of apps/games to show.
In my opinion it's pretty cool and I remember 12 to 14 years ago using that a lot. Most people on the time didn't know how to enable that and at some point in TeamSpeak 3 history it was removed, because devs were thinking the plugin was useless and had no real purpose. Although pretty basic, the list itself contain history of apps that was used back in the days, some of these apps probably you never knew it even existed, but that's the charm of this plugin in my opinion, preservation.
So because I'm a one person here, I made and added in a Git, so other people could retrieve the updated list, update in their clients or even suggest changes and adding more apps/games I didn't cover still. The list on Git gets updated all the time, so it's a good idea to have the page on your bookmarks or something so you always remember to keep checking for updates
AppScanner Git Page
To make an account on Git, please contact Shu on TeamSpeak 3 Server, so he can help with the account creation. You can of course submit your own code for other projects not related to TeamSpeak 3 necessarily in our Git, but the fact you don't need to verify your phone number in our site is very appealing already.
In the future I also want to make an auto-updater, so you don't need to replace the file manually all the time. If you are a programmer and want to participate in this project, please let me know.
I also have ideas for a new plugin compatible with API 20, 21-22 and maybe the latest API, but I might need a programmer that understands C++ and QT versions to create the plugin in the first place. My ideas are still on paper and I know someday I can make them reality, so if you want to give it a try to make this dream a reality, again please contact me so we can talk about the topic.

More Updates coming...

As we evolve in been a Retro, friendly and respectful community we also need more power to run our factory, so we will be upgrading the servers for more performance in mind, since we are in need.
The Upgrade is justifiable if you think what is coming next in a few months... I can't reveal too much right now, because it's still in the paper plans, but when I have a better working environment, I'll come back here and update the changelog once more, as for now, some community members might know what I'm developing since some of the active members I always do some beta testing to see if features are properly in place before actually going public.

As I described here these updates might take effect immediately after the post and some others in the next few days, but either way, HUGE UPDATE with EXCITING NEWS, we hope to change it for the better and one more time THANK YOU VERY MUCH to be part of our community or at least follow what we post here, IT REALLY MEANS A LOT TO ME, but more importantly to to the Retro Community in general.

For Plugins using API 21-22, I re-organized between API 21 and API 22 to be easier to find for each TeamSpeak Client, so now you can find plugins compatible with your versions. The plugins out of these two folders It means, I didn't test them yet to know which API they are.
In a couple of days, I'll be releasing a big update related to Plugins for both API 20 (Windows XP) and a couple for API 21, so stay tuned.

Published in February 16 2026

Renamed "Chatlog Viewer" plugin to "Chatlog Viewer - Read Logs offline" (Better appealing name) on API21.

Published in February 12 2026

Fixed issue related to the server group "Xfire User" not being possible to send messages in Channels.
Rename plugin "G15 Plugin" to "Logitech G15 Plugin" to be a little more recognizable and easy to find under API 21-22.

The TeamSpeak Package Installer allows users to install plugins, soundpacks,

Requires TeamSpeak 3 Client rc-2 or later.
Package files are ZIP archives with another file suffix. Only zlib compression
is supported. Do not use Umlauts in your filenames inside the ZIP archive, they
are not supported.
Package files are identified by their file suffix:
.ts3_plugin
.ts3_style
.ts3_soundpack
.ts3_iconpack
.ts3_translation
.ts3_addon
The suffix is a hint for the user about the package content. The install

Packages which contain multiple types (like stylesheet and an iconpack)

more generic .ts3_addon.
The root directory of the archive is required to contain a special package

The Platforms field can be empty (allowed for all platforms) or a list of
supported platforms of this add-on.
Valid platform names are: win32, win64, linux_x86, linux_amd64, mac
The package installer will validate the current platform it is running on
against the list of supported platforms in the package.ini file. If the
current platform is included in the list, installing will be allowed.
If the platform list is empty or the field is not given, installing will
be allowed.
The hierarchy of a package archive is required to reflect the structure of

Added a new extension for TeamSpeak 2 related to Logitech G15 keyboards. (Can be found under "Connect to our Legacy Servers" file browser)
Updated Anti-Flood settings on TeamSpeak 2 server.

Published in January 06 2026 (Just a minor update to re-sort the TeamSpeak 3 Channels):

Removed SERVER CHANGELOG to include changelogs for the server in the channel that says 'Updated in mm/dd/yyyy'
Removed EVENTS Channel since there's no usage for the server.
Removed 'Ventrilo Files' and 'Connect to TeamSpeak 2 server' channels for having one channel called 'Connect to our Legacy Servers' which it will host TeamSpeak Classic, 2 and Ventrilo Files. (Ventrilo files also have server files which if you want to host yourself you can also do it)

Added official wallpapers for TeamSpeak 3 in the 'Shu - Dev/Owner' Channel
Added new skin for TeamSpeak 3 and new folder called TeamSpeak 3 Forum (2025), which was my source to find the skin actually.
Worth to mention, I updated the channels and rules on TeamSpeak 2. Now TeamSpeak 2 Guest users can make their own channels for their friends to connect with. You still need to register in the server if you want to move to the Registered ones, but now at least you can use our server without registration at least. (It took a bit, I know)
I also want to give an idea a try about having channels with Software names that existed for each Windows in the past, so we remember certain programs existed back in the day.

TS3 --> We have GameRanger, Hamachi and Tunngle as references for channels
TS2 --> We have Kali95 and Xfire.
If we forgot about any popular software for Gaming, please let us know!
With that hopefully you have an excellent end of year, and we wish you the best of 2026 .

Another big update for the TeamSpeak 3 server and one of the updates I worked hard to be released in no more than 1 month. First we have an update with more plugins available for you to choose for version 3.1 and 3.1.10 (Not compatible with older versions before 3.1, in other words these plugins aren't designed to be working with Windows XP)

As promised in the previous update, I bring our Owncast channel, more specifically for TeamSpeak users. I integrated that already in the Forum post as a Live Streaming and for people to use to stream content, It requires to be a TeamSpeak member then you can share screen with your friends. Because it was already designed that you are probably going to be using TeamSpeak 3 servers anyway, chat is disabled, but the "Follow button" is enable, so you can actually receive in a Fediverse instance the notification when someone is live or just receive it in your own browser. The direct link to access it and to follow for notifications is this: TeamSpeak 3 Share screen

I also could recovery an important piece of plugin that was made in the TeamSpeak 3 betas and then ported over the years for many different TeamSpeak 3 versions, the one I'm talking here the plugin called "appscanner" which makes a scan of what the user is using on the time and show to others that are also using this plugin, pretty cool. Now what actually took so long to release this update is because I provided some quality life updates to the list of apps to detect your apps or game apps. The list will be updated by me and others with community contributions over time, but actually anyone can add that with your own programs, I just want to centralize everything to be easier for people receive updates for it. (In the future it might be better for people update that list clicking in some sort of "update.exe", but for now the list can only be updated, if replacing the existent apps.ini file (Location for each platform can be find under the txt that comes with the plugin).

With release of lots of plugins that was missing from people's view, I'm also looking for developers to actually improve the appscanner plugin or maybe even make new plugins for the client, so please if you know what you are doing or you are interested in this project contact me through TeamSpeak or the Forum, talking about the Forum...

Forum added in the TeamSpeak 3 client, for better access and also to tell people we have one. The decision of the Forum was made for us to post and share knowledge between old computers or even games you or me like, so feel free to make an account in our forum and share whatever you find interesting to share.

Probably you noticed a new channel in our server called "Ventrilo files", that channel is also my attempt to recovery the lost media of Ventrilo. (Yes a competitor of TeamSpeak, but way more lightweight in comparison, designed for very low end PCs) Some of you are probably very curious why Ventrilo shows up there in the first place, well I personally never used/use Ventrilo myself, but it's still kind interesting the history of their downfall tho, so because of these reasons I also made a server for supporting dial-up connections and you can use it without any restriction accessing the DNS: lrvent.duckdns.org

Yes! It's a temporarily DNS for now but it should be able to connect on it. At the moment we have a server using version 2.1.2. But we also provide the server files and the client for everything below 3.0 versions. (3.0 although most used for other people, unfortunate has an issue with server licenses which makes impossible to actually have a new server in 2025, unless if you already paid for one in the past, version below 3.0 should work fine because they didn't implement that)
The features you get in Ventrilo below 3.0 is more likely comparable with TeamSpeak 2 features, so I wouldn't say it's an alternative to TeamSpeak 3, but I would be able to see an alternative to TeamSpeak 2, since it felt very nice to be using that in a Pentium III Windows 98 machine. Yes, Ventrilo below 3.0 something accepts up to Windows 95, so yeah in my opinion very worth it to preserve if there's any savage using Windows 95 and wants to communicate with others still or even Windows 98. :)
Continuing about the Ventrilo topic, if you want to be registered in our server, you need to provide a username and password for a Staff member, then eventually it will be registered in our Ventrilo server and on our TeamSpeak 3 server you will receive a Ventrilo badge, proving you got registered on it. It's not as mandatory to have you registered in our servers since the whole Ventrilo server is more like a side project we also offer to our users, but it will be quite handy if in the future we restrict access to it, thanks to trolls and why not... For now we are going to have the server without any restriction at all.

In the channel "TeamSpeak 3 Client Files", we added all client versions for TeamSpeak 3 since it was demanding to provide an alternative for the official link hosted on archive.org. If it's needed we can also provide direct link in our own website, let us know if we need to change something about it, or just leave in our own TeamSpeak server instead. In that channel description you can see all DNSs we use to be able to connect in our server, it's quite handy since the high level domain is not as easy to remember anyway and the Japanese characters not always work as part of the domain itself...

In the channel "Community servers", It's now going to be shown the servers available as Sub-channels instead of using Channel description. So with this change it should open more possibilities for customizing your server.

I also decided to support the game Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, a game from 2007. I personally love this game even in 2025 and unfortunate the official Master Servers are long gone thanks to Activision, so the only way to play this game properly is making small community. So now we also support playing sessions of that game. Even if you have the server files, It's impossible to join any server thanks to every single full version of the game requiring your server to Authenticate with the Master Servers, and since they are gone there's no way for you to actually connect on it.

Unfortunate thanks to the dead of Master Servers, It's impossible to create servers for the game today using normal ways. For version 1.5 we have ETQW.org which apparently supports this "Authentication", but because I like the retro perspective of the game, which in my opinion is golden, even including the hilarious glitches that comes with it, I will be using version 1.1 for the full version. The other alternative people have for servers and be able to connect on it is creating a private network, such as Hamachi to host the server there and then be able to connect. Hamachi is already included and very well known in the retro community, so that was the path I took here.
So in order to connect into the ETQW server we host, you need to well first join our TeamSpeak 3 server (especially to be able to talk using mics and know others that play the game). In the TeamSpeak 3 server we provide the Hamachi Network to join... We're planning to leave the server on all the time tho, 24/7, but unfortunate the Hamachi connection is a requirement for play the full version with others.
Alternatively we're also going to leave the Demo 2.0 version of the game opened from time to time, so for folks that want to just test things around, we're going to provide that alternative as well. The Demo servers for ETQW doesn't need authentication so you can join those servers without using Hamachi, just knowing the the IP for it, then the game will register the server under History, in the LAN play.
Keep in mind Demo 2.0 and full version 1.1 is very different in gameplay, we are using version 2.0, because it's easily more accessible than Demo 1.0 and tracking sites also can share more what we are trying to do here, so yeah... If you are a Quake Wars player, join our community, we honestly don't care about BS rules like most of the ETQW 1.5 servers tho. We want to provide a reliable solution for those servers instead.
As always if you appreciate what we're doing, don't forget you can support us donating, or making a plugin for people that use these old TeamSpeak clients, I'm sure people is going to appreciate your hard work tho. (We're going to appreciate it for sure :) ) Dunno about plugins? Then maybe you want to customize with soundpacks or skins, either way we support people's creation community... I mean if you are reading this probably you like to use TeamSpeak as much like me so why not supporting each other right?
Also we appreciate the community effort to preserve stuff so sharing knowledge, servers, clients or even tutorials is what we want to become, so as always if you have cool things to share feel free to use this Forum...
With this I hopefully I can organize myself and make one more update to the TeamSpeak 3 server before end of the year, I dunno, but we will see...

September 25 2025

Fixed skin GT5 Italia skin only have a .txt file
Game Network channel won't be accessible anymore to be less confuse to users
Renamed "Hamachi" channel and "Gameranger" channel to "Private Rooms" and "Public Rooms" so the difference is Public rooms you can create a temporarily channels with no password and Private Rooms password is mandatory. Although the creation of these channels are limited to 1 person per room, meaning you can only create one channel per time, after the channel is made you can define how many users are going to join, but at same time both rooms aren't visible to anyone in the server.

September 20 2025

Few days ago we got our own domain, which means now we don't need to be dependent from duckdns domain anymore, which means with our domain not only we can have a site (which is in development), but also it fixes the connection protocols on Teamspeak to make a safe connection between you and the server.
TSDNS is now enabled as an option: In case you guys dunno TSDNS was used as part of Legacy Teamspeak, I mean versions way before 3.0.18.2, so that means before 3.0.19.4 Teamspeak will prioritize connections to TSDNS if it gets detected by the server, so if you are using any version before 3.0.19.4, please update the server address for the follow DNS: windowsxp.retrospection.xn--q9jyb4c or windowsxp.retrospection.みんな (If you are on Windows XP Japanese)
If you are using versions between 3.1 and 3.1.5 use the follow DNS: windowsvista.retrospection.xn--q9jyb4c or windowsvista.retrospection.みんな (If using Windows Vista Japanese): Teamspeak between the mentioned versions are going to prioritize direct connections instead TSDNS, which in these versions got deprecated
If you are using any version for Windows 7, in other words between 3.1.6 and 3.1.10, nothing changed, use Server Nickname "Windows 7" instead of any DNS mentioned.
Keep in mind the old DNS retropcgaming.duckdns.org will no longer be used, at same time it will be available for some time until no longer be an option, so I suggest you to keep up with the new ways to connect with the server.

Of course connecting through IP also is an option, but not really recommend since if your connection is compromised, hackers can literally spy on you and such and I want all users to be safe.

I also already updated the Teamspeak 2 DNS servers. You can connect using this DNS: ts2.retrospection.xn--q9jyb4c
Other tracking sites will be updated to the new DNSs as well
Music Bots are finally in the final steps to be a permanent thing, I just need to test one more feature for few days, but pretty sure it will be a thing for our server. =)
For last I'm happy to announce the Android app for Teamspeak, to be able to connect to the server using a Android phone is now available to download under the channel "Shu - Dev/Owner", keep in mind you still need to buy Teamspeak 3 from the Google play store, after you made the purchase you should be able to use that app no problem. It took me many months testing in my own phone and see if it was risky or not, but after so many connections and usage I can tell the app it's safe to use.
In general this update was huge and not only should connect to the server faster, but also safely as well.
The next updates I should have more information about the site and also the "ScreenShare thing" for TS3, yeah I'm looking for options here. See you in the next update! <3

August 23 2025

Added "RetroMusicBot" which is going to be our bot to play music... For now it can play internal music files and youtube links if the user knows the link for it... Also it's capable to play youtube playlist, but I'll adjusting the commands for it in a couple of days. The bot is still in very early stages, I still need to fix some possible bugs to it, but at least it works.

August 12 2025

Fixed Server nickname "Windows 7" to the actual IP, so connection shouldn't be hanging anymore.
In a later date I should also get "Retros" nickname from TS6 to redirect to this server instead since TS6 will no longer be available.

August 09 2025

All Xfire users now will be able to access the xfire_games.ini located in the channel Xf1re Gane Space, to download the file just access the channel description and click in the link over there.

August 03 2025

Seems our download quota was very small, so we increased the cap for 120mb each month for "Regulars channel group". So now you can download more stuff than before.

July 06 2025

The update I bring for the community is not related to Teamspeak per say, but with the Xfire community. Somehow I got involved with them and now I'm also going to publish games compatible with Xfire to help that community, so with that I basically made a space to fit these games in. The channels aren't joinable, they are just for people to know what I'm working with.
Changed the channel name "Game channels" to "Game Network" which is what truely is.
Thanks to my involvement with Xf1re community I'll have to delay the icons update for now.

June 26 2025

Updated the max users to 8 because the lack of 10 people at same time in the server, maybe if the server gets more popular and have people actually joining more often I'll increase that number again.
I transferred the skins I compiled for TS3 to TS6 server as well, so people that uses the latest TS3 version can also access those skins. The skins are located in the channel "Retro Computer System (TS3) in the TS6 server.

June 12 2025

Finally the skins updated arrived, I compile more than 200 skins including the ones available on myteamspeak.com, so now you don't have the excuse in calling Teamspeak 3 old. Some skins modernize the client, but with 200 choices you got options. In total the skins are almost 300mb so yeah enjoy! =D
July update is going to be for Icon packs as probably you already know some skins require additional Icon packs which unfortunate I'll have to delay for July since requires a lot of hard work to compile this enormous quantity of customizations, but hopefully I can finish in time. =)
If you have ideas for a skin, you can make one yourself and contact Shu later. Did you find a skin we don't have in the database? Contact Shu for that as well, he'll be glad to include it in the database.
This is probably the biggest update the server received so far, and I was excited for this announcement myself.
Due to more files included in the database, I'll restrict the speed of downloads in the server to not lag everyone in the download proccess. (Before it was infinite speed)
Also I'll be testing meanwhile a download quota of 60mb. So now you'll be a bit restricted when It's related to downloads, again to prevent lag.
AS A REMINDER ALL SKINS ARE AVAILABLE IN 'SHU - DEV/OWNER' CHANNEL, AND YOU NEED TO HAVE 'REGULAR' SERVER GROUP TO SEE AND DOWNLOAD CUSTOMIZATIONS.

May 31 2025

'Live Users' can't change their own description anymore, only if you are part of the 'Regular server group'.
'Live users' only can connect once per identity (before was 2).
Tweaked a bit the 'Anti-Flood measures' to prevent flood in the server.
Re-organized the folders on 'Shu - Dev/Owner' to be a bit more easier to understand where it's where.
Uplouded installers for 'TSNotifier 1.6.0' and 'TSNotifier 1.6.0c' for easy access.
Added Overwolf folder and web installer to the Overlay section for plugins.

May 20 2025

After a long testing period I concluded the plugin 'TS3Overlay' is very glitchy on Windows XP, please don't use that instead use 'TSNotifier' overlay which is way more compatible with XP in comparison. Files for TSNotifier got updated with the correct version.
Added general version that's not XP for TSNotifier.
TSNotifier really is the definitive way to use an overlay while playing games, for XP it doesn't detect old games (below DirectX 9) and some XP titles that actually use Directx 9, It's a bit weird, but in general 82% of the games should work with TSNotifier instead.
Updated SDKs folder to include APIs 20, 21 and 22.
Updated Unity SDK for API 20 and API 22 (Latest versions).
Updated Unreal SDK for API 20 (Latest version).
Updated TSNotifier directory to include the latest version for clients API (No reason to get API 21, unless for testing, API 21 and 22 are all compatible with each other);
Updated 'Retro Computer Systems' channel description to include the latest versions of each Operating system and for a bit of reference in which version to download.
Updated Change log since number of characters reached máx.
Updated description on both TS2 and TS3 servers on GameTracker to be more friendly, other sites will receive the description update eventually.
This going to be the last update for May, tho since I'll have to be busy with other stuff IRL, but in June I'll be back for more so see you there! And stay strong!

Changed visibility for Staff channels to be visible for all users. Made this change for Tracker sites detect users in the sever, even when staff wants to be private in their own channels and not really public (Might change back to private in future updates tho)
After talking with some Xfire members, I decided it was wise to make sending offline messages available for everyone since It's very useful, although It's still going to be exclusive to 'Regulars', but please don't spam others using this feature otherwise
it will be more limited to who can use this in the future. To use "Send offline messages" you need to Add a user as a contact and then when they are offline or not in the server, you can message them and they will receive next time they are online and in the client.
NOTE: In case of abuse messages, you can use the feature "Make a Compain" to the user who's abusing this. Or message one of the staffs directly for your report.

May 15 2025

About Teamspeak 2 server I found out it had a binary updated for both servers and clients, so luckily I found the Client update for Windows and It's already available in 'Connect to Teamspeak 2 server' channel to download. It seems It fixed a vulnerability with the client, but
I'm not so sure what was that vulnerability.
Luckily in the same place I also found a very early alpha for Teamspeak 2 SDK which must be pretty rare since I didn't even know myself Teamspeak 2 had a SDK so enjoy.
About Teamspeak 2 server will leave it off until I find the binary for the server side, I see many places people sharing the file modified from the original and even coming with Malware, so be careful out there. Again I'll post in my channel only legit files where I checked personally.
In 'Connect to Teamspeak 2 server' I'll post only files related to Teamspeak 2.
I guess thanks to Russians for that, I found the server side for both Windows and Linux using the latest updated version, now server is updated to version 2.0.24.1.
I also luckily found TS3 PluginSDK 3.0.18.1 the only SDK version I could find, still looking for 3.0.19.1 which is for the latest client supporting Windows XP. (File was added on 'Shu - Dev/Owner' channel)
Added channel 'Teamspeak 1.5 Investigation' which I'll update the status of my search for the Linux server files for Teamspeak 1.5, if you find the server files for Linux, please contact me!

May 07 2025

Ok, by accident I could start up the Teamspeak 2 server which I was having issues for so long and then I guess it will stay, so because of that...
The channel 'Connect to Teamspeak 2 Server' was added and the description will be only visible for people that have the new 'TS2 User' server group.
Added new Server group 'TS2 User' for those that also want to join our new Teamspeak 2 server.
If you want to have the 'TS2 User' server group contact one of the staff members to know more about it.
The description for the channel 'Connect to Teamspeak 2 Server' will come probably in the next update...

May 03 2025

Added information about how to install and connect to our new server 'Doom 2' which will be open soon! (Soon it will be able to see 'EVENTS' description channel).

April 28 2025

Thanks to a bug found in the 'Regular' server group unfortunate It's no long be possible to remove and add for yourself as freely as before, now only Staff will be able to add you for now.
Opened the possibility to share files between users using game channels [Feature is in beta in our TS6 server and you can share files in there for now].
Added new channel called Xfire, found out about it this program and it works on Windows XP still so adding it over here was like mandatory to me. ;)
Added Hardware category in the 'Shu - Dev/Owner' channel.

April 27 2025

300mb of Soundpacks uplouded in my channel. :)
More customization for Teamspeak is coming on May, I'll update the changelogs when It's ready...
Oops daisy very quickly, I forgot to change the logs to track 'the channels' made, so even if there's no Staff members online we can still track who broke the rules for Game Channels...
Server released to public, share our server using one of the links on 'Retro Computer Systems' channel
Changed visibility in the Staff channel to Staff online members, so we don't show up in trackers sites if we are online or not.

April 25 2025

New Server Title since well this is a Retro server after all, so now title makes more sense...
We got a new Welcome message screen! :)
Added spicy descriptions and changed some visuals in channel descriptions.
Community servers are finally open and soon we will have servers made by our community over there, check it up! =D
Added 2 new server groups: Mods (Moderators) and Regulars (For those that join the channel very regularly and want to be special)
'Regular' Server group can't be added by staff and need to be added by the user itself, with Regular server group you have a little bit of access to features and also can be removed by the user itself. (It's the only Server group that can be added or removed by the user)
Restricted 'Guest' server group to Regular become a little bit more attractive.
Re-adjust some 'Admin' permissions especially for complaining and poking.
As 'Guest' you can only communicate through channel chats, and requires 'Regular' to send private messages.
